GUESTS IN LUXURIOUS VILLAS ARE DISCERNING TRAVELERS WHO VALUE SERVICE AND ARE RECEPTIVE TO NEW IDEAS AND EMERGING TRENDS.

WELCOME TO KOH SAMUI’S FINEST SELECTION OF LUXURIOUS PRIVATE VILLAS.

A high mountain ridge runs from the east to the west of the island and the interior is mostly covered in rich vegetation. The lowland hills are decorated with coconut palms and emerald paddy fields that slope gently down to the beach – this is where most people choose to live or stay.

The local people refer to themselves as ‘Chao Samui’ and make up around 40,000 of the population. Most are Buddhist Thais, known for their friendly, laid back nature. Until the arrival of tourism, coconut farming and fishing were the main sources of income and both are still important on the island today. The fresh seafood found in the many restaurants around the island is still mostly caught that very day in the rich surrounding waters.

Koh Samui was once a nature-lovers paradise: quiet and remote with an abundance of natural beauty. A simple hut on the beach was the only accommodation available and the restaurants were basic fishermen’s shacks. Until the construction of an airport, lack of accessibility kept the rest of the world at bay, including mainstream tourists. Nowadays, renown 5-star hotels and resorts line the island’s beaches and a booming residential market has transformed the island from a sleepy paradise into a full-service international destination.

There are still plenty of fine white sand beaches and miles of lush green countryside to explore. The largest and most popular beaches are Chaweng, Lamai and Bophut. While those looking for a quieter place to spend their holiday or business trip, can choose from more than 20 peaceful bays and villages scattered around the island.

When it comes to activities, there is something for everyone on Samui. Watersports enthusiasts can indulge in everything from scuba diving to kitesurfing, whilst culture vultures and nature lovers will enjoy visiting ornate local temples, trekking through the jungle or learning respected Thai arts such as cooking and massage. Then, of course, there is the fine art of relaxation and Samui offers a wealth of spa treatments and therapies to enhance your time in this tropical island.

Koh Samui is a rare gem in the Gulf of Thailand, offering modern amenities and exciting outdoor activities while at the same time conserving the idyllic simplicity of a true tropical hideaway.
